Outside Broadcasting is among the most challenging activities in television production. Away from the controlled environment afforded by a studio, operating conditions can be very difficult, and the quality and reliability of both equipment and vehicle is an essential part of a successful production.

KIT digital specializes in creating custom mobile broadcast units, ranging from fast, nimble multi-camera OB vans to newsgathering trucks that quickly deliver news via microwave or satellite to full-equipped multi-environment. We have built over 250 OB vehicles that are at work around the world in a variety of applications.

Production Vehicles

Our team offers all the mechanical, electrical, and electronic skills needed to design and build single, double, or even triple-expanding production trailers, and KIT built one of the world’s first HD trailers back in 2004. We have built many more since, as well as upgrading some older SD trailers for existing clients.

Broadcast Vehicles

Digital Satellite News-gathering vehicles and smaller satellite link trucks account for an impressive amount of KIT digital’s vehicle construction projects, and nearly all of them are designed and constructed in-house at our headquarters. KIT offers a wide variety of SNG platforms from cost-effective minimalist solutions to multi-camera production vehicles with automatic satellite-finding antenna systems.

Mobile Audio and Radio

KIT digital also designs and builds audio-only radio vehicles for major broadcasters. The world of audio broadcast is changing almost as rapidly as video — modern trucks often need to have the ability to transmit over IP as well as via the more traditional network.
