KaBOOM

KaBOOM! Is a national non-profit whose mission is to help communities to build playgrounds within walking distance of every child in America. Working seamlessly with tools developed by KaBOOM!, KIT provides a member management platform called Connect that serves as a hub for users to monitor their activity on the KaBOOM! website, make friends, participate in discussions, show-off their community achievements, and earn Badges for their good work. KaBOOM! has been able to easily share important and time-sensitive information with users, including playspace build instructions, project progress reports, and project feedback. KaBOOM! also held a video contest asking people to upload a 1-minute video explaining why he/she needed a playground. Winners of the contest were chosen by a member vote, and the finalists used a KIT digital video widget to get out the vote on various social channels.
